Power BI Desktop is a free Windows application for building reports — it cannot share reports with others via the cloud. Power BI Pro (approximately ₹800/user/month) adds cloud publishing and collaboration in shared workspaces. Premium Per User (approximately ₹1,600/user/month) adds advanced AI visuals, paginated reports, 100 GB storage and deployment pipelines. For most Indian business teams, Power BI Pro is the right starting point.

Power BI Desktop is free to download separately. Power BI Pro is included in Microsoft 365 E5 and some E3 plans. If you are on Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard or Business Premium, you will need a separate Power BI Pro licence (approximately ₹800/user/month). Yes. Power BI has a native Excel connector that imports spreadsheet data and tables automatically. For Tally Prime, Power BI connects via ODBC driver or the Tally ODBC server, enabling live or scheduled data refresh from your Tally data. Cloudfy Systems can configure both connections as part of implementation.

A basic Power BI Pro workspace setup — user provisioning, data source connection and a starter dashboard — typically takes 2—5 business days. Custom dashboard development for specific departments (finance, sales, operations) takes 1—3 weeks depending on data complexity. Power BI's interface is available in multiple languages. The Natural Language Q&A feature primarily works in English, but data labels, report text and visualisation content can be in any language including Hindi, as long as the underlying data is in that language.
